Mosets Tree 4.1.2 - Radius Search, Location Search Module, and Heading Field Type

We're excited to announce the release of Mosets Tree 4.1.2! This update brings location-based searching to your directory, one of the most asked feature.

Find Listings By Location With Radius Search

Mosets Tree 4.1.2 introduces Radius Search — visitors can now search for listings within a chosen distance of a place. For example, "all coffee shops within 10 km of my current location".

Once enabled under Configuration → Search → Radius Search, a location input and a distance selector appear on the Advanced Search page. You can choose between kilometers and miles, define the distance options shown to users (e.g. 5, 10, 25, 50, 100), and pick a default radius. Listing summaries can show the distance from the searched location, and results can be sorted by proximity.

Radius search uses your existing Google Maps API key, but requires the Places API and Geocoding API to be enabled in Google Cloud Console in addition to the Maps JavaScript API used by Cluster Maps. Read the Radius Search documentation for the full feature overview and the setup requirements.

New Location Search Module

The new mod_mt_location_search module makes radius search available anywhere on your site — homepage, sidebars, custom pages — without sending users to the Advanced Search page first.

The module displays a location input with optional autocomplete, an optional "Use my location" button that prefills the location from the browser's geolocation, and an optional radius selector. It can also be scoped to a specific category branch.

New Heading Field Type

Long Add Listing forms can be hard to scan. The new Heading field type lets you visually group related custom fields under section headings. Headings appear in the Add Listing form, listing details page and search forms, helping users orient themselves in long forms.

A Heading field has no input or stored value — just place it in your custom field ordering before the group it should label.

Read more in the Heading fieldtype documentation.

Bug Fixes

  • Grid gallery lightbox now scopes navigation per listing instead of cycling through every image on the page.
  • Trigger Modified Listing configuration now supports core field IDs (Name, Description, etc.) in addition to custom fields.

Cleanup

The Facebook Like button feature has been removed in this release. Facebook's Like button has been deprecated by Meta and is no longer reliable for use on directory listings.
